Language Arts- Houghton Mifflin Reading Program. Standards are met through the study of themes and novel sets. Additional supplemental materials will be used to address the standards.

CCSS-Reading Standards for Literature-Model School Library Standards:
“Read a good representation of grade-level-appropriate text, making progress toward the goal of reading 500,000 words annually by grade four (e.g., classic and contemporary literature, magazines, newspapers, online information).
Math- A variety of math materials will be used for study and extension. Problem solving methods will be used to challenge students and to provide extension opportunities. We will be using:

-CGI
-ST Math (online)
-Ten Marks (online)
-IXL
-Various online resource materials
Social Studies-Harcourt School Publishers-Reflections and online resources. Standards are addressed in the following units of study: geography, environments, Native American studies and local Indians, local history (the study of Encinitas).
Science-Houghton Mifflin, Health-Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, and various online resources. Science standards will be met through five four-week rotations; in class and science lab throughout the year

P.E.-Standards will be addressed through the Sparks PE program and supplemental materials. Two programs are offered at ECC. One is a funded PE program. The students will participate once a week On Thursday. The other funded program is EUSD yoga. The emphasis is on students doing their “personal best”. Please have your child wear appropriate shoes for our PE days, Monday-Friday.
Technology-Standards will be addressed through classroom use of computers, the computer lab, and iPads. Computer lab is once a week on Thursday.
